Ironically, the new Ford Shelby produces 112 more horsepower than its predecessor. Yet, it's the most fuel economic car of its category. The honking V8 under the bonnet has 662 horsepower and 631 ft-lbs of torque to its disposal and was dubbed the most powerful engine in the world.

"Our goal was to produce a good car on every level, not just something that would be good between two red lights," SVT Chief Nameplate Engineer Jamal Hameedi said.

Capable of 320 km/h, the Shelby GT500 should be one of the best bangs for your buck out there. Ford hasn't revealed its price yet, and the launch date is still be be confirmed, but it promises.
